Hi there, At this years intervarsities (hosted by DCU) it was decided that we (the University of Limerick Outdoor Pursuits Club) would host next years IV's.
There will be a subcommittee set up for this with Gahan chairing it as the Invervarsity Officer.
At the moment we are still discussing even the most basic details and have provisional dates set.
We want to bring the craic back to the IV's and make it a kick ass weekend in Limerick for everyone.
Anyway, keep an eye on this board for more details when we have them to put up!

Hey, I know its been ages since I have posted here but I was just looking at the intervarsities website and the film fest stuff and it really does look great. And getting Steve Mc Clure for the guest talk is really class. It's really good to see the club doing really well and keep up the great work.
Chat later! Frank

Hey guys. Here's a draft of the intro homepage that I've thrown together for the intervarsities website. Let me know what you think. What could go in and what could come out. I'm not too attached to this one so be as critical as you like.
Cheers and all the best.
Hey there. Welcome to the brand spankin new UL OPC intervarsities website 09. Yes you heard right, the indoor rock climbing intervarsities are going to be hosted in Limerick this year. Construction has already begun on the new sentry tower and we hope to have it functional by the end of January. Which will hopefully keep everyone nice and safe for the duration from the hoards of pick pocketing, happy slapping, spit in your hair locals that you’ve all heard about. This year we hope to live up to the standard that was set by the DCU rock climbing club last year, a big boula bos to them. We hope to do this with our state of the art climbing wall. With its vertigo instilling max height of 7.5 m you’re bound to hear the phrase ‘’it’s not the size of the wall that counts, it’s the quality of the jugs and knobs that are there to grab onto’’ thrown about quite a bit. I’d like to take this opportunity to say, that something that’s very important to us this year is that everyone has fun. No, not everyone’s a winner. The majority of us will be clear cut losers in fact. If you want to take a moment to cry about this go right ahead... Good. But for all us losers there are going to be plenty of opportunities to drown our sorrows, or comfort eat them away. We’ve also an up and coming new band ‘Floyd Soul & The Wolf’, a guest speaker, and a magical night out in store. So think not of it as just an awesome competition which is bound to have routes that will leave you punching your friends and cursing mother Teresa, and their co creator Harr. It’s also going to be a weekend to remember. The OPC, putting the session back in Recession, and giving you a weekend like no other. Sponsored by the Ulster Bank.

Haha I love the bit about the sentry tower. Great quirky stuff as always, Garion! Does anyone know how to spell "bualadh bos" correctly? I don't think it's boula bos. The website looks deadly too. Exciting times. Well done lads.

Jonathon Redmond Male B 254 points in the bouldering competition. I don't think so. Take his name off the results as 1st place. He obviously cheated.

I'm still waiting for them. Been asking Hugh a lot, but he's very busy with fourth year.

Hiya,
I have the female individual intervarsities plaque thing, I believe a girl called Sonia Buckley won it- does anyone have her contact details or the contact details of her uni club? if so, please let me know by email (joanmulloy@yahoo.ie) so I can unite her with her trophy!
Cheers,
Joan
