1. Get wall opened at 6 on a Monday if possible - we could teach some lads tying in, knots, belaying, bit of leading, and then if there isnt that many lads we could set up a bouldering league like there was in the first semester but just for the hour!
2. As back up we could possibly set up an account with the Dingle wall so if the weather craps out we can go there and not have to worry too much about money matters..
3. Midweek trips - dingle, keeper hill, the castle, galway wall.. i was on to the lads in Galway about possible trainings and they could cater for a pretty varied strength group so we could do that. for orienteering as the nights get shorter we could do it in the ul fields and do some night navigation... im on the sprinter too so i could do the driving and most of them wouldnt cost
4. Sunday trips - if there was a sunday trip to carantouhil, we as a committee could head down on the saturday do a few of the different ridges that we havent done and camp there that night, then when the bus arrives on the Sunday we can meet them there and take em up whatever way then.. it would be really good for bonding and getting somethin out of it ourselves.. of course there would obviously need to be someone to come down with the trip or two maybe but its really possible.
5. Advertise kiddies nights better - so just print off a bunch of fliers or posters and stick em up in some of the local schools, boost the profile a bit better and help out the community... it could be a good source of revenue for the club if we did it properly.
6. Might touch on the lads idea of the adventure race but we could get more shite going on in the college, like slack lining, abseils, zip lines, table climbing, orienteering and who knows, maybe a bridge swing?
7. Add in a third top rope like the one that was there on the slab or before that the third one that was on the main wall but actually use this one...
8. LIT membership - maybe get on to the guys who are over the outdoor club in LIT get them to add 20 to their membership for anyone who wants it and allow them access to our wall? obviously we get that 20. Conor could prove very useful in this cos i know he has been in contact with them before around the intervarsities time.
9. Maybe as a rag week thing or i would like maybe as a charity fund raiser have something like the OPC Games... Make it a 5er to enter or somethin and the money minus prizes goes to charity? events could be fastest traverse (gary), dyno comps, flexibility comp, endurance on the finger boards, table climbing again, speed climbing up the main wall.. would reflect well on us and we'd have great craic.
10. Def more mystery nights out and committee bonding (KEITHOS NIGHT CLUB!!!!)
11. Do the survival skills as something diiferent - the basic run down is they dump you somewhere like a forest and as a team you have to well SURVIVE without man made things bar a knife pretty much... i think its held in leitrim.
12. Check out interst in REC 4 with the kakers..
13. Go further afield with trips and try Fermanagh, Donegal and Monaghan for trips for ourselves first and then if its do-able take the trips up there
