i think that'd be savage.. Anyone have a copy of it on DVD? Maybe a good night in Scholars? Big screen, bit of finger food and an all round good evening.

Between myself and tony we have pretty much every climbing movie there is downloaded. Javas would be great. The underdeveloped DVD has extras not on the download so great if someone has a copy.

I think you need to get some kind of license or pay some kind of fee before screening any movies like that. I don't think it would be a lot though, or at least I would hope so. I know they have had talks in Javas before, not sure how keen they might be on a movie, but we could see.

the last time it was played at some venue (Jonny Swift?) and we had to contact Patricia Moriarty or someone like that and it was fine? I'm sure corman wouldnt mind if its bringing in a bit of business on a quiet Wednesday evening or something

I've just sent an e-mail to Patricia about this, so I'll keep everyone posted when I get more details on movies available/costs etc.
Corman is game as well, Keitho asked him the other night.

Ginge got the go ahead.. need to pick the five films in order of preference.. since it was colms suggestion i think he should choose number one.. ones to be suggested so far are underdeveloped first ascent progression crackaholic - would need to be ordered from sweden which could be out of the question king lines on sight i kinda want to add "the beckoning silence" to that bout an attempted first ascent on the north face of the eiger...

We're looking to do this in week 13 (I gather from the mails) heres a trailer for crackoholic... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Cuux1eUUnQCan be bought here... www.crackoholic.com/index.htmlWe'd be able get it here on time alright, I'd put it number 1 but thats partly due to the fact that I havnt seen it. That said, it does look epic. As for the rest... 2.underdeveloped 3.progression 4.first ascent 5.king lines 6.on sight Or something like that. But I'd try have 1 trad and 1 sport maybe. So one of either crackoholic, underdeveloped or on-sight, and then one of the other 2. Darragh seems to be able remember the movies alot better than I can so get him in on this.

Underdeveloped- A must have progression- has sport, trad, bouldering and big wall climbing...really impressive dvd and features a section showing the area the Spain trip is planned for (Costa Daurada/ Siurana area) First Ascent- Good narative, has deep water soloing, lots of trad, alpine climbing etc. have original copy at home King lines- good narative, best for getting people's attention, climbing from all parts of world, all Chris Sharma, Deep water soloing, sport and bouldering, a bit of trad.....I've never gotten bored of this film and I have an original copy at home. But if you really want to get blood boiled, check out 'The Sharp End' www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDmJZ2aEMr4 Has everything a climbing film needs. Will keep you concentrated from start to finish. All styles of climbing including trad, highballing, ice, aid, big wall and the impressive new soloing/basejumping style (Dean potter solos the north face of the Eiger with a parachute!) The choice is yours!!
