Howdy All, A couple of us from UL were at an ICRO ( Irish Cave Rescue Organisation) Cave rescue Practice this past weekend... there were 31 cavers from accross the country involved in the exercise in St catherines cave near doolin.... the cave was tight and the day proved to be a great learning expierience.. the scenario was a group with various injuries having to be evacuated from the depths of the cave... Clare was even carried out a distance by stretcher... ;D Any OPC members who would like to get involved in the future are more than welcome. you need to Join the SUI to be covered insurancewise but if you contact me i can brief you on the full details... I cannot recommend the expierience gained from the activity enough... Is Mise le Meas Cillian Cillian@ulopc.com

I would definitely reccommend any of you caving enthusiasts to go to an ICRO cave rescue practice. It was myself and Aislinn's first practice and we had a great time and learned so much. Its a great way to meet other cavers too and do a bit of caving!
And just for the record, I was a pretend casualty!! A group of four casualties went underground to be rescued (all had hypothermia, one broken leg and a diabetic coma)and as we waited for help, we had a doctor with us coaching us on our pretend symptoms!
The stretecher was interesting, to say the least!! So thanks cillian and aislinn for rescuing me!!!
