Howdy All, Some of ye have already been told about this but can anyone who is interested in camping on carauntoohill or at least in the vacinity of it for new Years pop an E-mail to me please Cillian@ulopc.comthe plan would be to camp in or beside the CIC hut and go up carauntoohill and perhaps do some more hiking in the area... the kayakers will also be having a new years party not too far away Is Mise Le Meas Cillian

Tony, man up. Nevis to Carrauntoohill is only a bit of a stroll sure.
But if you wanted I suppose you could use the Kerry Mountain Rescue hut instead.

howdy all,
we had a great trip to kerry for new years...
the emergency shelter ( its so much easier to type CIC hut how bout calling it the ES ?) was cosy and the 8 of us who went along had a good trip...
there was about a foot of snow on the ground when we camped on the 30th and another foot fell overnight...
Carauntoohill was in amazing form..
We had a good new years down in Rossbeigh with our Kayaking friends...
