Ok, so every evening you come down the climbing wall and you notice that there's someone hanging around not doing much climbing (other than mike rynne that is ). well chances are they're supervising for the night. supervisors have to have enough knowledge of climbing techniques and equipment to facilitate users of the climbing wall, and be able to keep the climbing area safe. every year a supervisors course is run and those who pass it will be added into the supervisor rota. theres a sign up sheet down at the wall for the course if you're interested and feel free to ask any of the supervisors any questions you may have.

did no one tell you jihad? I supervise the supervisors! I have a couple of nice routes for you to try (if you can get off the ground that is, I'll let you skip the start if its too hard ) next time you're at the wall

Hi there,
For all of you who are interested a supervisors course will more then more then likely be week 9. Frank Cox and I intend running it. People who want to do this course should be down at the wall and have some experience of belaying (under the direct supervision of a current qualified supervisor), tying knots and just being familiar with the climbing wall in general. All of the above will help when doing the course.
The role of the supervisor’s course is to teach people to supervise and not to belay. Belaying is a pre-exquisite for the course.
Any other questions just shout.
Rgds, Darragh
