Anyone interested in goin to Scotland at Easter, it's getting close and if you've not been training already the time's nigh. A few runs between now and then'll help get your stamina and fitness up and make you feel all the better for wear in general. I'll be going for runs at Six or 6.30, whichever suits most people, Mon to Fri for the next few weeks. Leaving from the PESS building. Ye should seriously try and come, the fitness test is in two weeks with a seven hour slog across Ireland's highest mountain range the Macgillycuddy Reeks and if you can't do that yer chances of getting on the trip won't be too good, be a pity to miss.

I don't know how far you plan on running, but it is very important to gradually build up distance otherwise you won't be much good for 7 hours on Nevis. Good shoes are essential as is a proper stretching routine. If there is a running group, checkk running forums for sample training plans and for stretches etc.
Someone new to running won't see any benefit in two weeks as they will be in the acllimatisation phase and the there is a risk of injury if they overdo it. However you should still do it, just take it easy until you can comfortably run 20 minutes at a steady pace (easy breathing) Speed work should be saved until you have many many miles under your belt.
Wish I was around to join you... nobody interested in running with me over in Germany.

Fair play Garion for organising the runs. Ive started running myself with Garion and Jihad. If I can manage it then so can anyone. Everybody is welcome to join we start at a nice handy pace.
