Apologies for last weekends trip to Ballykeefe being canceled due to weather conditions. Plenty of things are in store for you so don't despair.
WEEK FIVE brings the OPC's annual EGM this THURSDAY 9th October !!! :oThis is a great chance to get in on the action, get involved in the running of the club!!! Some positions available:
1st Year Rep.
This position will be thrown in with one of the others. It can only be taken by a first year and it is their job to relay any information back to the committee.
Assistant Treasurer.
The treasure is responsible for controlling all our money going in and out as well as keeping track of our budget and doing up the budget for next year. As the assistant you would be expected to help the treasurer maintain records and other budget and monetary related tasks. When the treasurer is unable to make a committee meeting you will take his place.
Assistant Gear.
The gear officer is responsible for doing inventory, signing out and in gear to members and for trips and ordering new gear. As assistant you would be expected to help with the above tasks as well as help devise a new gear system. When the gear officer is unable to make a committee meeting you will take his place.
Assistant Caving.
For a trainee Caving officer... helping out with organising caving trips and gear. Having contact with all relevant people ,clubs and organisations in UL and around ireland from a caving and OPC point of view. benifitting from increased subsidy on all training undertaken as part of the OPC.
Assistant Trips.
Our trips officer must book hostels, bus and organized every aspect to our weekly trips. As assistant you would be responsibly for putting up the sign up sheet, assisting on trips and other related tasks. You will addend the committee meetings when the trips officer is away.

Advertising for the club, making it aware to UL students, posters and weekly emails.
So come along, we will have our FANTASTIC ~MyStEry~ night out after which takes places in........ HA thought I was going to tell you didn't you! This years location is TOP SECRET :-Xbut I can tell you this, you will have a great night out! It is €5 per person, STABLES ARCHWAY 8pm THURSDAY it takes place after the EGM.There are over 50 places so a good night is in store. There will be some grub and drinks at discounted prices so make sure you come.
Unfortunately there is no weekend trip for WEEK 5 as there is a training weekend being held for your lovable leaders.
WEEK 6 is something to get excited about though, :Das we head to the BURREN for some CAVING or ROCK CLIMBING. Refresh those rock climbing skills, or try the exciting world of caving.
Mid Week Caving, next trip (this wednesday) is almost full but if you want to be in on the fun please contact Cillian@ulopc.com, he will also keep you updated on trips. Last weeks trip was a great success with ten people underground for an hour and a half...
All club membership cards can be collected at the EGM.
