What's the craic? I hope all is well and you are all enjoying Rag Week. Just a quick mail to let ye know what's happening with the OPC over Easter and the coming weeks.
Easter Trip
The OPC has 14 climbers heading to Costa Blanca in Spain for sport climbing. They are over 2000 sport climbing routes of varying difficulty in Costa Blanca so im sure the guys will be kept busy over there for their 10 day trip. Have a good 1 guys and be safe.
Climbing Wall
This will be closed over the Easter break from the 03/04/09 and reopem on Tuesday the 14th of April.
Hill Walking Sunday Wk 11 Apr 19th
On Sunday of Wk 11 we will go to Mount Brandon in Co Kerry one of the most spectacular mountains in Ireland will worth a trip. The usual applies leave from the Stables archway at 9:00 am. Boots and warm clothes are essential and bring a packed lunch and plenty of Water. A sign up Sheet will be at the Red Raisins Cafe on the OPC notice Board from Tuesday morning Wk 11
Week end Trip
The next week end trip will take place on the wknd of April the 24th and 25th Friday, Saturday, Sunday of Wk12. This will be the last trip of the semester to say goodbye and have a bit of craic before the exams.
We will go to Doolin Co Clare. Doolin is a charming small seaside village on the northwest coast of County Clare. Set against the rugged Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by the spectacular bare limestone landscape of the Burren, Doolin is a place of breathtaking beauty. The activities for this wknd will be Rock climbing which we will cater for the very Beginners (people who have never climbed) , intermediate and advanced also there will be an opportunity to go Caving and we will be hiking through the Burren aswell.
Make sure to keep this wknd free as it should be a great week end and one not to be missed. Make sure to keep this wknd free.
Student Union Elections
A Big congratulations to our very own Fergal Dempsey on been elected to the Students Union as Campaigns and Services Officer no better man for the job. We wish you all the best Fergal and no doubt you will do a fantastic job. Thanks to all the OPC members who helped and Voted for Ferg.
