Lads and lassies,
I guarantee ye this OPC week will definitely change yer lives, possibly even for the better. Well done to everyone who went on this weekends trip to the Galtees, braving the elements and discovering the real history between Cork and Tipperary. Right, this week and all it has in store:::
Kill-feckin-arney Weekend
The papers are signed and your lives handed over to us for another weekend of mountains, mischief and madness. Carantouhill, Irelands highest mountain, awaits us this Saturday, the 14th of November. What you need to know: We will leave the stables archway at the good sociable time of 7.45am. The trip is completely full so be sure to be a bit early for the bus and to get organised. The balance of €15 euro will be collected when you get on the bus, those of you who owe it. RIGHT!!!! HATS, BOOTS, GLOVES AND RAINCOATS are essential, no excuses. We always bring extra but we can't bring enough for the amount of people that are coming. Everyone bring I.D. (proof of age) for the night club on Saturday night. Those of you that are French, expect a bit of banter if we win the match. Thats all on Killarney. Any questions, report to Pirate Paul, trips@ulopc.com .
Caving
Unfortunately, there is no midweek caving trip this week. I know, disappointment. However, for those of you who are really enjoying the caving and want to help out the club, you can go down to the boathouse at 6pm on Wednesday evening to help Cillian out with sorting the gear. This gives you a great chance to become more familiar with the gear and get to know the Curvacious Cillian a little better. Everybody is welcome.
To keep up to date on all this Caving keep an eye on the caving section of the Club message board.. cllian@ulopc.com

Scotland Info Night
For everyone who has had those wet dreams about going to Scotland in January with the OPC for 10 days of madness, climbing and the probably the best thing you'll have ever done, drag yourself down to the PESS building (where our climbing wall is) at 7.30pm. The room number is P1001 and the day is Thursday.
LOCAL LOTTO
The luck has been with the OPC over the last couple of Lotto draws with a number of our members winning spot prizes. Basically the tickets are €2 each which goes to charity and also the clubs and socities of UL, but more importantly you could win over €3000 euro. Tickets can be bought from the wall, on the trip and anywhere true salesman Cillian is to be seen. In the words of a very wise friend of mine "If you're not in you can't win..."
Training
Caving training carries on this week. Same bat time same bat place, PESS building, room P1004 7pm. Lots left to learn guys so come on down and soak up the caving techniques : SRT is on the menu this week too.
Orienteering will run directly after. After a very successful fun run last week, Jerome will keep a good thing going by giving you more hints and tips before sending you off on another adventurous route around campus.
Evening run will go from the wall at 6pm on Wednesday with me. Yes, thats right, your chance to spend 40mins of physical exercise by the water with your training officer, woodsy. Call it an opportunity. See ye there. Afterwards, Kiddies night again, so anyone who has any kids they would like to bring down, Wednesday 7-9 is your chance.
Little apology, I left out the wonderous Conor Hurley in my welcoming to the new committee members. Assistant caving officer Conor can be found in large dark holes in the middle of nowhere in Clare and if I'm not mistaken, Killarney this weekend. Get to know him!!
Now thats all I have for ye, unless i see ye at the wall, the run or Killarney. Probably covers most of ye. Any questions at all, don't be shy. woodsy@ulopc.com
Gluck for now,
