I think if any tents are going out, they must be opened (and repacked by the borrower) on return and shown to be dry (mould-free), poles not broken and tent alright.
It is the responsibility of the borrower of the tent to ensure that everything is in order BEFORE it leaves the wall, otherwise you will be held accountable for any damage.
Tents are too expensive and open to damage for them to be lent care-free and I don't want the guys to arrive in the alps to find something wrong with tents (as happened to us - mouldy shit).

That's fair. A check before the tent leaves and returns.

The person you have to contact is Cillian re taking out gear.
I have a full rack a helmet harness shoes and rope here that I was going to return tomorrow.
However the steering rack on my car went on the way home yesterday so its in the garage now for the next few days. Itll likely be early next week before I get the chance to go to Limerick
However, there is sufficient gear available for Colm and Jen to go. The rack cillian brought to cork and the rack that clare and woodsy are returning are both good to go. There are loads of helmets and harnesses and what not anyway.
Again apologies but there is nothing I can do about it.

Our Question is why are you going to a place where there is very little for beginner climbers to do? However we have no issue with giving you gear to go to Ailladie/Ballyryan/Oughtdara (which was the recommended place to go after the last alps training in Dalkey) or similar where you are familiar with the area and have done some of the routes there before. Similarly, if you can get a more experienced club member to go with ye to the Aran Islands then you are more than welcome to take the gear and go. Apologies for any inconvenience, Darragh

Does the club have a set of hexes? Hey Colm, Due to some minor miscommunication, the hexes are locked in Garions room in College court and he is in Rosslare and wont be back until next week. Therefore the hexes are not available to be taken out now. Apologies, Darragh

Thats not on with the Hexes being in Garions Room and now he is gone. I thought all gear had to be returned as set out Colm is going climbing for 10 days and asked for the hexes on the 27th of May. Can we make sure all gear that is out at the moment is returned as promised so this does not happen again. I am well aware that I have club gear at the moment and will drop it back. I am based in Limerick for the summer and will happily take control of the second set of gear keys.

Paul the issue arose when Garion tried to return them, texted Fearghal who then told him to text Ginge. Garion received no reply from Ginge, why I do not know. It is regrettable but people are lucky there are people there who can give out gear in the first place during the Summer.
We try our best, we are all spread over the country for the summer, compromises wll have to be made every now and again.
As it turns out, there may be a second set of hexes, Cillian will know.

The 2nd set of Hexes were *not* returned in time for the inventory (along with plenty of other gear). We knew where they were, and I apologise that I didn't go collect them myself and bring them down.
The emphasise being on "2nd" set. There should be another set inside the press in the climbing wall, most likely at the very bottom because that is where I placed them, unless they have been signed out, in which case it will be in the books.

Darragh thats still not good enough.
I am based fulltime in Limerick so if people need to drop gear back and cant get to the wall. I will meet ye personally and bring the gear to my house until I can put it at the wall.
Problem solved.
Instead of people looking for gear and it is locked in someone's room what good is that?
