So guys its that time of year again. With the memories of Scotland still fresh in our heads, the thought of epics on big peaks, alpine starts, mad dashes down to the cable car stations to get to the top of the queue - ahead of all the Japanese tourists with their big cameras - and cursing and swearing at the local guide dragging some fat business man up Mont Blanc!
Yes, Im talking about the Alps!
Firstly guys, this years trip is going to be slightly different to last years. The main reason for this is that there are not as many experienced people able to go this year, so guides will be required over there etc.
I know that Darach and Conor Gahan are going to be in Chamonix in June, making that an ideal time to head over. I was talking to Conor today and we could hire Darach over there to teach stuff and introduce you to the likes of Bivvying at altitude, doing long mountain routes etc. Plus Darach will be cheaper (and better!) than an alpine guide, believe me, they are the biggest assholes on the face of the earth!
It will be an amazing trip, without a doubt. Having been there last year, I can assure you that the mountains will simply blow your mind away when you see them.
This is very early days, so not much is known about how transport will be arranged or accommodation yet.
This is just to generate interest and to see who would like to go on such a trip. Requirements will apply to all people looking to go on the trip.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
