I was looking at the regions on the internet and I think Ailefroide looks the best in my opinion but where ever we go will be good.

Ailefroide is a deadly place alright but there are no glaciers there as far as i know and it is really important to do creavasse resscue training in the alps for future big trips

hey again, ok so heres the update. We are almost definately heading to Vicosoprano. Its the location of this years MCI Alpine Meet which means that all there guides are there already. The plan being that we head out like a week before it and do our training with them.
Getting back to the requirements i mentioned before were going to start club runs. I was thinking the first one could be this week meeting at the climbing wall at bout 8pm and well work it from there. If wednesdays are good for everyone well leave it like that if not well change it to a different day. Let me know if you're showing up.
As well as that people who are interested are going to have to start showing up at the climbing wall. We've got to start training lads.

About the running go running at 7 because you still have light if you start at 8 it gets dark then if you want to run down the bank. Wednesdays dont suit me any other day is fine.
Guys start replying to the post if yere interested in going to the Alps.

sorry bout this bit of confusion. Were goin Ailefroide not vicosoprano. My bad Ok so as well as the fitness and climbing etc if your interested in coming your gonna need a few extra things. Similar to scotland you need a decent bag, DECENT waterproofs and theres no renting fully rigid boots so that means buying them. Well have the dates set for ye by the end of the week and hopefully were goin to be able to have almost everything ready to present to ye at the AGM. Start spreading the word lads we need to now whos interested.

Hey guys. I won't be going to the Alps this year, so if anyone needs some gear then just give me a shout if you think I might have something that would suit you. I've Fully Rigids in 10.5. A Decent waterproof jacket. Some catagory 3 sunglasses, A good 50 l bag, a map case and 2 compasses. I'd say ye might think about having everyone get a compass this year. Eh, can't think of anything else, but if you're missing something just send's a txt and I'll see if I can sort you out.
All the Best.
P.s. Oh yeah, if you've got a decent bag then you'd want to make sure it's got a crampon section, if not think about getting a crampon bag. Yer campons fuck stuff up, namely your bag. I know from personal experience and I've only been carrying them a handfull of times.

Money and Time. I've pittence all of the first left, and I've repeat exams coming up in August that I'd like to pass. As much as I'd love to go, I don't think I can afford three weeks in the middle of July. That's life for ya. One minute you're sipping champagne in a hotel lobby with four or five top class hookers, with a key to the penthouse suite in your white linen jacket pocket, safe in the knowledge that upstairs there's a large bowl full of only the best columbian cocain waiting for you and your companions. The next you're sucking a dick over a webcam being viewed by five japanese teens, so that you can scrape together enough to get a hit of heroin, to drown out the noise of your two year old who's been wearing the same nappy for the last week and a half, and so you won't feel the pain of the blow from the six pack your husband beater woman will throw at your head the minute she sets eyes on you. Yes children, things can go downhill very fast. Have fun though.
