DCU bouldering comp this Saturday
Hi all,
We, DCU Rock Climbing Club will be holding a fundraising competition at the wall in DCU, as part of our fundraising drive. Entry will be €5 for everyone. There will be a mix of scoring, with one type testing your onsighting ability, like the IBL, three attempts worth 10,7 and 4. Then there will also be routes where your points depend on how far you make it along the climb. You can try these ones as many times as you like.
It is open to all climbers, and we will have the same catagories as the IBL, Junior, Male/Female B and Open A.
All the proceeds are going towards the wall upgrade.
We will have the wall done by the time the IBL round will be in DCU, so you will all get to see&climb on it! Then hopefully we will be able to get the wall open to the public. The more of a turn out we get the better, not just for the wall upgrade, but also the manager of the Sports Complex will see the interest in the wall, and this will go well for the chance of it being open to the public.
The competition is on Saturday the 6th of January, and will start at 10am. I will post up any more information closer to the time.
Regards,
Nicole Quinn
Also Round 3 of the IBL is going to be in Killarney on Saturday 27th January, it's located in St Brendans Secondary School adjacent to Killarney Cathedral.
